About Us
St Oscar Romero Catholic Academy Trust (formerly known as SELCAT) came into existence in September 2021 and operates across all key stages of education, from Nursery through to Sixth Form.
As a Trust, we are committed to excellence in Catholic education, to faith, to service, and to ensuring that the young people in our schools are placed at the heart of everything we do.
Our mission is to empower everyone in our communities and especially the young people in our schools to become agents of change and Apostles of hope by:
Living their lives with purpose.
Inspired by the legacy of St. Oscar Romero, we seek to form communities and individuals who are courageous, compassionate, and dedicated to building a just and faith-filled world.
They are currently 11 schools in our Trust, each one distinctive and unique. We are privileged to provide first class Catholic education on a daily basis to approximately 4,500 children and young people.
The Trust is committed to adding value by:
- Investing in staff development and school improvement
- Facilitating collaborative developments and activities between its schools
- Realising the power of economies of scale in procurement of supplies and services
- Reducing administrative burdens on Headteachers and Local Governing Committees to enable them to concentrate on the needs of their pupils and staff
